Principally, and first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God, who gave it hoping through the merits and satisfaction of my saviour, Jesus Christ, to have full and free pardon of all my sins and to inherit eternal life. And my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor hereafter named, nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. As as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me within this life, I give, demise, and dispose of the same in the manner and form following.

First, I will that my funeral charges and all those debts and duties which I owe in right or conscience to any manner of person or persons whatsoever shall be well and truly contented and paid or ordained to be paid in convenient time after my decease by my executor hereafter named.

I will and bequeath to my well beloved wife, Eve Burghardt, one-quarter of my improved lands during her natural life for her use and improvement. Also my will is that my son Conrade shall have the two lots of wild land in the after divisions already laid out, the one lying on the west side of the river and the other on the east side of the river, bounded by Jacob Burghardt's land, which together what he has already received out of my estate is all I design for him and is his full share, to be him and to his heirs and assigns forever by him and them to be freely possessed and enjoyed.

I give and bequeath to my five daughters, viz., Janica or Jane, Chesia, Margaret, Mary, and Aca or Elenor, two rights of land laid out in the hopland (so called) and all the after draughts belonging to the same yet to be laid out, to be equally divided to and among them or their heirs, which together with what they have heretofore received out of my estate is all I designate to be to them, their heirs, and assigns forever by them to freely and peaceably possessed and enjoyed.

I will and bequeath to my son, Lambert Burghardt, to whom I likewise constitute and make and ordain my sole executor of this my last will and testament, all the residue of my estate, both real and personal, he paying and discharging as is before stated an directed, to him and to his heirs and assigns forever by him and them freely to be possessed and enjoyed.
